SFL
provide five standard Gas Flue Boxes - Freestanding, Recessed,
Back Boiler, Flue
Gas Collector and LFE.
Each box is primarily designed to enable the installation
of gas appliances, either into existing houses built
without a chimney, into a standard fireplace recess or
as an economical method of installation of gas appliances
and chimneys into new buildings.
Freestanding
Designed
to enable the fitting of radiant and LFE gas fires
against the wall of a living room which have
been tested to BS5258 Parts 5 and 16. Used with the 125mm IL residential
gas vent system.
Recessed
The Recessed gas flue box is a
deeper version of the Freestanding gas
box. It is designed to accommodate similar appliances
that need a deeper opening. It can also be used to
fit within the thickness of an internal wall to minimise
the projection into the living room, therefore having
the gas fire flush to the wall in one room and the flue
system behind it.
Back Boiler
The Back Boiler is designed
to provide an enclosure for gas-fired back boiler units.
The box would form part of a false chimney breast arrangement
housing both appliance and the 125mm IL residential
gas vent system.
Flue Gas Collector
The
Flue Gas Collector is designed to accommodate a conventional
radiant gas fire which has been tested to BS5258 Part
5 where fitted into an existing fireplace opening, and
where the chimney requires to be lined. It is used with
a 125mm flexible flue liner to BS715. This provides
a very easy and quick method of installing the appliance,
usually without the need to disturb the chimney breast
or fire surround.
Fitted with quick-fit detachable flue spigot for ease
of installation allowing the box to be located in the
fireplace opening and the liner to be connected to
the spigot from within the box. The spigot can then
be secured to the underside of the box by wing nut
fastenings provided.
LFE
The LFE is purpose
designed to provide an enclosure for Live Fuel Effect
Decorative Gas Fires which have been tested to BS5258
Part 16 and cannot be accommodated by the Freestanding
or Recessed boxes, or which require 175mm flue system.
It would be used by either the 125mm
IL residential gas vent, or a 175mm SMW chimney
system.
